“Cast Your Vote For A Worthy Cause”
With the help of visitors to our Race Day 2009, Henkel supported three social projects. For each person who visited the Henkel Smile stand and cast his or her vote, Henkel donated one euro to the social project chosen. By voting, race-goers will be able to select the initiative that is closest to their heart and thus which worthy cause should receive the euro donated by Henkel.
Henkel Smile
The race meeting is also part of the Henkel Smile program: Henkel sees itself primarily as a “good citizen” at its various sites. By organizing the Henkel Race Day, the company helps to strengthen the image of the city of Düsseldorf, adding a little more joy to the lives of its citizens.
We recognize that we have a responsibility toward society that goes beyond our direct business activities. Henkel Smile provides the umbrella for the Company’s corporate citizenship activities: employee and retiree engagement (MIT), emergency fund (HFI), and company and brand engagement (Social Partnerships). Henkel Smile supports activities in the areas of engagement: social needs, education and science, fitness and health, arts and culture, and environment.
MIT employee engagement
Through MIT Henkel supports the voluntary social engage- ment by employees and retirees in community improvement projects, which are proposed and actively managed by the individual, in an effort to “Make an Impact on Tomorrow” (MIT).
HFI emergency fund
The HFI emergency fund provides worldwide and immediate help in a crisis or a disaster affecting people and their communities, through the independent and non-profit association “Henkel Friendship Initiative e.V.”.
Social Partnerships company & brand engagement
Through Social Partnerships Henkel and its brands contribute to foster community life and the advancement of society through company and brand partnerships.
