Henkel is a top sustainability performer

Henkel has been chosen by a jury composed of analysts and fund managers to receive the "Sustainability Congress Award 2006" of the Verein zur Förderung des Sustainability Gedankens e.V., an association dedicated to the promotion of the sustainability ethos. This distinction is conferred upon companies whose entrepreneurial activities are characterized throughout by especially sustainable practices. The award was presented to Henkel on March 15, 2006, during the 2nd Sustainability Congress in Bonn.

Henkel is this year's winner of the "Sustainability Congress Award," a distinction conferred upon companies with especially sustainable business practices. The annual award, presented for the second time this year, was instituted by the association Verein zur Förderung des Sustainability Gedankens e.V. The jury made special mention of the fact that Henkel has long given equal importance to economy, ecology and society in conducting its business activities.

At the award ceremony, held during the Sustainability Congress in Bonn on March 15, Dr. Wolfgang Gawrisch, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Research/Technology and Chairman of Henkel's Sustainability Council, said: "We are delighted to receive this award, especially because it comes from a jury that assesses the long-term performance and value development of business enterprises. In our Values, we have declared our dedication to sustainability and corporate social responsibility, and we assume this responsibility wherever Henkel operates. We contribute to society through our brands and technologies, while always striving to harmonize economic, ecological and social objectives."

At a press conference in Düsseldorf on March 23, 2006, Henkel will be presenting its sustainability strategy and its sustainability performance in 2005. More information on sustainability at Henkel can be found in the company's Sustainability Channel on the Internet at http://www.sd.henkel.com.
