The Inventory Accountant role is very critical to the organization having both local and regional responsibility in which the ideal candidate must first understand the critical finance and accounting concepts to elicit, uncover and define the organizational goals.

The role requires an identification of the specific tactical steps the business must take to meet those goals, transfer the gathered knowledge about those business needs to craft a solution and finally evaluate the extent to which the solution has met its target goals through holding the following responsibilities

What we offer

  • Supporting working capital optimization strategies in line with inventory management through generating weekly inventory profile and shelf life reports in addition to slobs and stock cover analysis leading to stock classification
  • Generating product margin reports for general ledger and profitability reporting responsible for sales and cost of sales accounts, mark-up income/changes as well as commission journals and computations
  • Running of product costing, valuation and cost variance analysis
  • Holding inventory sub-ledger reconciliation of the general ledger on a monthly basis
  • Planning and coordinating of physical stock and related cycle count reconciliations on an annual and quarterly basis
  • Reviewing and analyzing work in progress (WIP) inventory variance as well as the impact on cost of materials and passing the accounting journals for work in progress inclusion in cost of sales
  • Holding a leading role in the internal and external audit of cost of sales and inventory sub ledger of the general ledger
  • Monitoring of costing and valuation of locally manufactured goods for integrity and product margin protection
  • Composing intercompany pricing and sales reports for the business lines with embargoed countries
  • Posting of approved inventory transactional adjustment and corrections involving inventory receipts, ussies and inter warehouse stocks transfers
  • Participating in end of the month financial reporting for correction of financial statements

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, Accounting or any related field of study
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Finance or Accounting department with adequate knowledge of accounting principles for financial analysis purposes
  • Fluent in English
  • CPA certified
  • Experience in SAP or similar related ERP applications is a plus
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to utilize qualitative data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to operate in a cross functional environment
