 Objectives  Status

Development of ultrapure, long-life adhesives and sealants for fuel cells, thereby contributing to the development of clean energy sources.

First products are already being sold for fuel cells in vehicles and stationary applications. Development of next product generation with longer life.
Development of innovative lightweight composite materials for the aircraft industry to cut fuel consumption. The technologies developed by Henkel are being further tested by potential customers. We have successfully expanded our partnership with Airbus in the context of the A350 program.
Development of tailor-made system solutions for technologies that make use of renewable resources, thereby contributing to the development of clean energy sources. Sealants for wind turbines and cleaners for rotor blade molds have been successfully established in the market.
Development of a nanoceramic coating process as an alternative to iron phosphating in the automotive industry by the end of 2008. Intensive development in collaboration with partners.
Development of high-performance ingredients based on renewable raw materials for the purpose of reducing long-term dependency on ingredients obtained from mineral oil. Various research projects, also with external partners.
Reduction of the energy consumption at the Düsseldorf-Holthausen site by 10 percent in 2007. Not achieved: The achieved reduction was -8.5% for steam and -1.4% for electricity.
