Internships are of great importance to Henkel.  They are important for you and for us.  As an intern you are responsible for challenging tasks and interesting projects.  During your internship you are supported by a mentor provided by us.  At the very beginning, you and your mentor will agree on individual goals.  Then, throughout the duration of your internship, he / she will support you and regularly give you feedback.  At the end of your internship, you will be awarded a certificate of completion. In addition, you will have the opportunity to receive a special bonus, based on a target agreement.

An internship makes it possible for you to find out whether you would like to work with us in the future.  It also makes it possible for us to find potential future junior managers.  Within the framework of “Career Track”, our intern alumni program, we stay in touch with our interns until the end of their studies.

If you convince us with exceptional commitment and excellence during your internship, you will have the chance to be nominated for the Career Track by your mentor at the end of your internship.  We encourage the cultivation of close and intensive relationships with our “trackies” until the end of their studies. It goes without saying that we expect our “trackies” in their turn to demonstrate a vital interest in Henkel, with possibilities of future employment.

First of all, it is essential to be nominated for the Career Track by your mentor. In addition, you should be a student for at least another six months. Since we want to find out exactly where you fit in, the decision will be based on a selection process assessing your competences and strengths. Afterwards you will receive an elaborate evaluation and our final decision.

To our “trackies” we offer regular seminars, workshops, and sustained and in-depth training, both to help develop personal skills and to demand initiatives and active input from them.  There is also a newsletter that keeps them updated about trends and topics in the Henkel world. In addition, we support our “trackies” during their internships abroad and provide guidance on how to write papers for the university. And of course we want to encourage our “trackies” to start their career at Henkel right after their studies. Very often the “trackies” accomplish a seamless transition into employment. In this they profit from the large network of Henkel employees who offer access to various fields of work and contact persons.
