Why training with Henkel?
I realised early on that I wanted to do a training course in business administration. So I found out at a career exhibition what the possibilities were. Then sometime told me about Henkel’s open day for school-leavers, so I went. On that day Henkel’s trainees came up to us very openly, and we noticed the good atmosphere and their team spirit. Now I am one of them myself, and all I can do is confirm the positive impression I gained on that open day.
What do you like about your work?
I find the training very varied. In my training here I have already worked in Bookkeeping and in the Personnel department that deals with training at Henkel. In both departments I was entrusted with quite a lot from the start, and I was fully initiated into everything.
I find it especially good that we get an additional dose of English lessons. We learn how to write letters in English or make telephone calls in English. If you only use a foreign language every few weeks at a vocational college, you forget most of it again in the meantime. Here we learn things that we put into practice right away – quite possibly the next time you pick up the phone!
What advice would you give to a new trainee at Henkel?
Any possible worries and nervousness you might have before starting your training are really superfluous and unnecessary. The idea is that you start off in each phase with an open mind, relaxed but with full concentration. Then you can be sure that wherever you go in Henkel as trainee, you are given a friendly welcome.
