My function here is Package Engineering Manager. This comprises interaction of cross-functional team members, functional reports and management.

Are you travelling for your function at Henkel?
My travelling involves industry conferences to keep up with new and innovative approaches and also manufacturers and suppliers, project start of production and qualifications.

How did the areas of authority change till today?
Previous positions have been technician and engineer. As a manager, the responsibility has shifted from the previous role of an individual contributor to management of a functional technical resource.

On which further professional training programs did you take part while staying with Henkel?
Over the years I’ve taken part in many of the training programs that’re offered. A program that was very interesting to me was “Finance for the Non-Financial Professional”.

What distinguishes Henkel from others?
It’s the corporate culture. It’s encouraging and leveraging the contribution of the individuals in the organization. This is clearly a strength for Henkel as an employer.

What piece of advice would you give to people starting at Henkel?
Acquire knowledge of other areas outside of your immediate functional responsibility. This will enhance your understanding and contribution.
