Dermatological Expertise / Tests

The dermatological know-how supporting Henkel’s cosmetic and detergent business units provides a profound data base. Our dermatology department carries out in-vivo and in-vitro tests to ensure the highest level of safety. To evaluate the skin compatibility of coolants various volunteer studies (e.g. patchtests) and different in- vitro test systems are used. Multan® has been tested accordingly and our market products have been proven to have good skin compatibility.

Bacterial Stability

Multan® offers best bacterial stability. Besides assuring reduced ecotoxicity, this property prevents the formation of tacky residues on tool changers, sensors and machine tools.

Biological tests are used to determine bacteria and germs quantitatively and qualitatively and to develop stable products. The high bacterial stability leads to increased bath life time and therefore a cost reduction in maintenance. In addition to classical methods, we use innovative tests like direct epifluorescence filter technology (DEFT) and fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) technology to obtain faster results.
