FAQ

1. Is it possible to play alone?
No, it’s not possible to play alone. In this third edition of the Henkel Innovation Challenge, you can only participate as a team of 2 to 3 students.

 

2. One of our team members is enrolled at a different university. Can we participate?
Yes. The team members can be from different universities.
 
3. I did not take marketing / management classes during my studies. Can I participate?

Sure. The game is open to all innovative minds for any student continuing education within a participating country. Participating countries for 2009 are: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey.

 

4. I am an exchange student and I will change to another country. Can I participate?

Exchange students can only participate if they attend the same university by the time they submit their project and then on for the entire time of the challenge (i.e. from December 2009 to April 2010).

 

5. Is the website the only channel to apply? Can I apply via e-mail/ via post?

All applications are accepted only via the website. It is very fast and easy to apply. Visit “Participate” to learn more.                      

 
6. What happens if one team member quits during the game?
The team members can be changed latest by the 1st round project submission date December 14, 2009. No team can be less than 2 students. The reason of change and the details of the new team member need to be communicated immediately to the corresponding HR country contact.
7. Can I participate in more than one team?
No, you can just be a member of one team.
 
8. Which sources of information can I use for my document, video, ppt and photos?
You can use all sources considered reliable, e.g. online resources, reports, interviews, etc.
 
9. What are the rules for round 1
In order to participate, you should form a team of 2-3 students, upload the innovation document and CVs from each team member. All questions regarding your vision of 2050 and resulting product needs as well as your innovative idea for a Henkel brand and your motivation need to be answered in English.
It is not mandatory though to upload further material - but always welcome. Be creative, it´s 2050!

10. How do we upload our project?
You can upload your project on this website under the link “Data Upload”. You will get a confirmation note, once your project is uploaded successfully.
 
11. What are the accepted formats for videos and photos?
Accepted formats for videos are Quicktime (.mov), Windows Media Video (.wmv), Flash Video (.flv) or Audio Video Interleaved (.avi) with a max. file size of 10MB.  For photos we accept jpg and gif formats. If you have any questions regarding the accepted formats and sizes please contact your country HR via the link "Contact us". Remember that we do not expect anything professional if you attach further designs or pictures. It´s all about an innovative idea and a good concept behind!
 
12. Can I make it to the finals if I hand in only the innovation document, CV and my motivation?
Of course. Your innovation concept should be well structured and in line with your vision of 2050. As long as your concept is logical and understandable in written form, there is no need for further materials. All you need to hand in are completely answered documents and your CVs. Any additional support to clarify and outline your creative ideas are welcome, but not neccessary.
