Henkel to merge adhesives and technologies businesses

Effective April 1, 2007, the Consumer and Craftsmen Adhesives and Henkel Technologies business sectors will be merged to form the new Adhesives Technologies business sector, with total sales of 5.5 billion euros realized in fiscal 2006.

Jochen Krautter, currently responsible for the Henkel Technologies business sector, and Alois Linder, currently responsible for the Consumer & Craftsmen Adhesives business sector, will jointly head this new business sector until June 30, 2007.

Effective July 1, 2007, Jochen Krautter, personally liable managing partner of Henkel KGaA of many years, will resign from the Management Board as planned. Alois Linder will then assume the sole responsibility for the new Adhesives Technologies business sector.

„The strategic rationale behind the merger of these two businesses derives from the advantages of a unified market approach”, said Ulrich Lehner, Chairman of the Management Board of Henkel KGaA. “We expect this move to enable us to better utilize the core competences of both business sectors and to significantly accelerate growth in all regions of the world.”
