Sustainable and responsible: Henkel was awarded with the King Khaled Award for Responsible Competitiveness for 2011 and the CHEP Awards 2011 for Sustainability in Saudi Arabia.

Henkel received the King Khaled Award for Responsible Competitiveness for 2011. The award recognizes Saudi and multinational companies for successfully integrating social and environmental goals with business performance. The finalists were short-listed from the Saudi Responsible Competitiveness Index, a detailed annual benchmark analyzed by SAGIA, the King Khaled Foundation and Accountability - a global research organization.

Henkel Saudi Arabia also won the CHEP award for Sustainability 2011. In this category CHEP recognizes Henkel’s commitments in sustainability leadership, with focus on environmental affairs, sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. CHEP is a partner with many companies worldwide for sustainability, and CHEP commended Henkel for a recent sustainability project the company collaborated with Carrefour.

"We believe that maintaining a balance between economic success, protection of the environment and social responsibility has been fundamental to our corporate culture for decades,” said Memosh Khawaja, General Manager Laundry & Home Care in the Gulf Region. “These awards confirm our commitment to one of our core values: Sustainability."

Research institutes and sustainability analysts regularly assess how companies balance economic, ecological and social factors. Henkel's leading role in sustainable development and corporate social responsibility has been confirmed by many of these international rating organizations and sustainability analysts.
