Mrs Melita Ferlež, Managing Director of Henkel Slovenia, who received the festive badge on behalf of Henkel Slovenia, said: "I am delighted and pleased to receive this award because it highlights the successful work put in place by Henkel Slovenia’s employees. This is not just in recognition of the excellent business results we have achieved, but also of all contributions that we make to the society and local community in Slovenia – be it culture, sports, environmental or humanitarian activities. I am glad that this has been recognized by the public and this nomination certainly is an honour for the company and our employees. Thank you”.
2011 was marked by numerous milestones and events, both for the city of Maribor and for Henkel Slovenia. In 2011 the Henkel Group also received various international awards globally for its efforts such as the best employer award in Germany and the recognition for the Sustainability Report.
Henkel Slovenia continued with its dedication to the local market by supporting different projects and enabling their realization. Some of the projects implemented in Maribor which fostered the Top Company recognition include Formula Student: A project developed with the aim to support students of the Faculty for Mechanical Engineering, Maribor in their development of a real formula one car. This project was supported by local Dakar Rally champion Miran Stanovnik and multiple world champion of Dakar Rally Marc Coma.
In cooperation with our business partners Mercator and Ekošola, a project supporting eco school initiative was implemented in late spring. Furthermore, Henkel’s support for the NK Maribor football club, the international summer festival “Festival Lent” and the central theatre festival “Borštnikovo srečanje” has already become a well known tradition in the local community. When it comes to the environmental activities, Henkel Slovenia is a proud supporter of the diving club Maribor, for their campaigns such as “Drava My Beach” which includes cleaning of the river shores.
