Students gear up for Henkel Innovation Challenge 6 in 2013

Students from 27 countries have registered for Henkel’s sixth student competition, the “Henkel Innovation Challenge”. The task for the student participants in the “Henkel Innovation Challenge” is to develop a concept for a Henkel brand in alignment with Henkel’s sustainability strategy, and according to the vision and market needs in 2050. This year’s competition takes place under the motto “Triple the value you create. Create a sustainable world”. Preparations for the regional and national finals are currently underway, during which selected student duos will vie for a ticket to the international finals. The winners will represent their countries or regions at the final in Shanghai, China from March 18-20, 2013. 

Registration for the “Henkel Innovation Challenge” took place from September 1 through December 12, 2012, summoning students from all over the world to develop innovative ideas in teams of two – for one of Henkel’s business areas: Adhesive Technologies, Beauty Care or Laundry & Home Care. Numerous applications came in from students from all over the world including teams from 12 European countries, 11 Asian-Pacific countries, as well as 4 Latin American and North American countries. 

The winning team of each regional and national semi-final will get the opportunity to compete in the international final, taking place for the first time outside Europe, from March 18-20, 2013, in China, the home country of last year’s winners. The three winning teams will meet the Henkel CEO Kasper Rorsted and will receive an additional prize: the winning team will get an around-the-world ticket worth 10,000 euros, while the second place will be awarded 4,000 euros and the third place 2,000 euros.
