Fifth appearance of German sustainability report ranking
Best sustainability report is from Henkel

The Henkel Sustainability Report 2003 took first place in the ranking list compiled by future e.V., the IÖW Institute for Ecological Economy Research and the business magazine Capital. The reports of the top 150 German companies were assessed. Henkel was presented with the associated award at a ceremony in Berlin on February 16, 2005.
Henkel's Sustainability Report has been awarded the top position in the latest - fifth - ranking list of German sustainability reports. At an award ceremony on February 16, 2005, future e.V. (a non-profit organization set up by a number of businesses) and the IÖW Institute for Ecological Economy Research, together with the business magazine Capital, declared Henkel the best reporter on sustainability.

The jury made special mention of the excellent linkage of Henkel's report to the Internet. It rated social and ecological aspects as well as the credibility, clarity and communicative quality of the reports.

At the award ceremony, Wolfgang Gawrisch, Chief Technology Officer Research/Technology and Chairman of the Henkel Sustainability Council, stated "We are delighted to receive this award. It strengthens our resolve to continue to report actively and openly on sustainability and corporate social responsibility. It confirms that we are on the right path. Companies which, like Henkel, assign a high priority to their long-term development must also give due consideration to environmental and social issues, which are crucial to their reputation and their very existence, in their corporate planning. The most important aspect of this is the involvement of all employees worldwide in the process of attaining these objectives."

Henkel began publishing an annual environment report in 1992. It was successively expanded to include safety and health, then corporate social responsibility. As well as the printed report, Henkel provides additional and up-to-date information on the Internet through its Sustainability Channel at http://www.sd.henkel.com.

On March 17, 2005, Henkel will present its new Sustainability Report at a press conference in Düsseldorf.
