Henkel stands behind the women!

The Women’s Handball World Championship 2007, which began on December 2nd in France, represents yet another major sporting event featuring the participation of Henkel. Henkel is supporting the Handball World Championship as a premium sponsor. Accordingly, the producer of brand-name consumer goods is expanding its involvement in international handball, focusing on supporting women in professional sports. For the last three years, Henkel has been sponsoring international handball competition, including the highly successful Men’s Handball World Championship in Germany at the beginning of 2007. Henkel will also serve as a sponsor to the upcoming European Handball Championship in Norway in 2008.

For many years, Henkel has been committed to sponsoring sporting events on a national and international level. With its sponsorship of the Women’s Handball World Championship in France, Henkel has now moved into professional women’s sports. Handball ranks among the most popular ball games in the world. This sport is also very important in key markets for Henkel, such as Eastern Europe or Scandanavia.

The XVIII Women’s Handball World Championship takes place from December 2 – 16, 2007. The tournament, in which a total of 24 teams will compete against each other, will be held in 11 French cities. The finalists will compete for the championship title at Palais Omnisports in Paris-Bercy. At the handball matches, the referees will wear jerseys displaying the Henkel slogan “A Brand like a Friend“. Moreover, the perimeter advertising will feature the Henkel logo. 

For many years, Henkel has been sponsoring major national and international sporting events. For example, the producer of brand-name consumer goods is the premium sponsor of the DEG Metro Stars in the German Ice Hockey League. Moreover, the company sponsors the Henkel Race Day in Düsseldorf, featuring the “Preis der Diana”, as well as the Tennis World Team Cup. The international sporting competitions which Henkel sponsors include the beach volleyball tournaments in Paris and Klagenfurt, as well as Rubson Raid Turquoise.
