We seek to promote our employees’ good health and ensure their long-term capacity to work trough targeted programs, medical health check-ups and other worldwide activities for health support. The measures taken include the elimination of risks in the workplace that could result in long-term illnesses and the inability to work. In addition to physical health programs, workplace health promotion places growing emphasis on how to cope with rising workloads and stress, in order to avoid the new illnesses that are appearing in our society. The health programs at Henkel are designed for employees of all ages and take national and cultural factors into account. A newly created “Health Steering Committee” and its sub-groups Health, Demography and Disability Management initiate and supervise the worldwide activities. 

Occupational Health Management

Henkel underlined its commitment to this holistic health and safety philosophy by joining the Unternehmen für Gesundheit [companies for health] network. As long ago as 2002, Henkel signed the European Union’s “Luxembourg Declaration on Workplace Health Promotion in the European Union”. As part of the Company’s efforts to continuously improve preventive health care measures, an annual conference takes place enabling the physicians of all Henkel companies in Germany, as well as the Human Resources departments, to compare notes. The findings are made available to all sites worldwide.
