Anke Meier – Head of Global Diversity Management

What does your work at Henkel entail?
This position has been newly created at Henkel. Its purpose is to make the Company even more international and varied. Another part of my work involves addressing the effects of demographic developments at Henkel.
What is your typical workday like?
My job is to actively communicate worldwide the advantages of diversity, such as facilitating entry into new markets, greater productivity, and the innovative potential of teams. In concrete terms, it may also involve improving options available to fathers and mothers in the Company, such as child daycare and flexible working hours and locations. For older colleagues, maintaining health and motivation is an important factor.
What fascinates you about this work?
Globalization, demography, and changes in social values are trends that Henkel must recognize. Confronting these early on and developing an appropriate framework is truly exciting.
What advice do you have for newcomers at Henkel?
It is important not to tie yourself down to a specific area too early, but first to take advantage of the many opportunities that are offered by Henkel. After all, the company covers a broad scope of activities and often offers undreamt-of possibilities.
