  • The Process/Project Engineer Intern will provide support and assistance to engineering and operations in the areas of OEE activities and meeting operational goals for safety, quality, customer service, and cost control.
  • Participates in problem analysis and planning for improving core production processes in critical measures (reliability, quality, cost).
  • Also participates in the development and implementation of major initiatives such as capital projects, formula changes, and packaging changes.
  • Safety is a fundamental aspect of the role and is part of everyone’s responsibility.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining support systems for the production process.
  • Assist in developing and implementing major initiatives (capital projects, formula/packaging changes, plant infrastructure, etc.).
  • Assist in providing engineering support to operation units.
  • Assist in technician training (training material development).
  • Assist in development and administration of annual capital plan.


  • Must be a Junior level or higher working toward a BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical engineering.
  • Strong planning, organization, and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to use statistical methods for process improvement and associated tools including Pareto, fishbone, control charts, etc.
  • Excellent people and communication skills; works well with others in a team environment.
  • Fundamental skills in MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point, and Visio, are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues, conduct root cause analysis and take action to fix issues.
  • Capable of management and coordination of multiple resources (i.e., employees, contractors, consultants, etc.).
  • Demonstration of skills through coursework or summer work experiences is desirable.
