  • Direct the day to day operations of the Henkel Global Trade Group, insuring compliance with U.S.and Canadian laws and regulations for the import and export of Henkel goods and technology. 
  • Lead and develop the department’s comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Department of Commerce, State,  U.S. Customs and Canada Customs regulations; insure all requirements for export licensing and authorizations for OGAs in scope for NA import and export regulations are met; serve as Henkel’s primary authority in interpreting these regulations.
  • Develop and implement appropriate policies, strategies, and procedures to enhance Henkel’s export and import compliance programs and implement new regulatory requirements, taking into account latest agency/regulatory developments.
  • Review all Henkel acquisitions for trade compliance practices, implement controls where needed.
  • Direct Henkel’s interfaces with U.S. and Canadian Government agencies involved in export and import regulations, leading team members in the proper responses to these agency requests for information, investigations, or disclosures.  Represent Henkel in contacting government agencies on matters of concern to Henkel business units. 
  • Lead Henkel NA Global Trade Group efforts to develop effective strategies to cost-effectively implement import and export filings and other trade operations
  • Direct Henkel’s program for internal training, auditing and record keeping for  export /import trade compliance programs and partners.
  • Oversee the continuation of Henkel’s CTPAT program.
  • Collaborate with Henkel Global Trade leaders in other regions; develop global compliance programs and strategies; lead one of Henkel’s global Trade pillars on a cross regional basis.

  • Confer with internal and external counsel on legal questions pertaining to Henkel’s compliance with applicable U.S. and Canadian export/import laws and regulations.
  • Insure the global trade software tools meet U.S. regulatory requirements and Henkel business requirements.
  • Train, mentor and develop Henkel’s trade compliance team members.  


  • BS / BA in International Trade or other relevant course of study, advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant corporate trade compliance experience with multi-national corporations, including experience in chemicals and/or consumer products, with at least 5 years experience in U.S. State Department licensing and controls of technical data.
  • Customs brokerage license a plus
  • Senior level knowledge of global FTA rules and automation processes
  • Excellent understanding of SAP R3 and GTS trade software.
  • Digital skills a plus
  • Experienced people development and management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
