  • The analytical chemist performs qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical analysis on a large variety of samples utilizing analytical instrumentation and wet chemistry techniques.

  • Chemists in this position are often assigned analytical projects to support product development (PD), technical service engineering (TCS), Process engineering (PE), operations, external customers and are also required to act as liaison to these departments in support of their chemical and physical testing needs.

  • The analytical chemist must maintain a good working relationship with PD, TCS, Manufacturing, Quality, Process Engineering, Facilities and Shipping departments.


  • B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.

  • 5-7 years experience in analytical chemistry or 3-5 years experience and an M.S. in Chemistry

  • Proficient in at least several areas of analytical chemistry (thermal analysis, chemical analysis, molecular spectroscopy, chromatography and wet chemistry)

  • Experience operating several types of analytical instrumentation such as Thermal (DMA, DSC, TMA, TGA, Rheometer); Spectroscopy (SEM/EDS, FT-IR, UV/Vis) and/or Chromatography (IC, HPLC, GPC, GC/MS)

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required

  • Must possess excellent organizational skills

  • Proficient in computer applications such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • Ability to work in a chemical lab and with lab equipment and computers.

  • Frequently sit, view a computer screen, and type on a keyboard for extended periods of time

  • Occasionally may be required to reach, squat, bend and lift up to 25 lbs
