  • Seeking a Chemist to develop new Surface Treatment technologies such as Conversion Coatings and Cleaners for the OEM Automotive market
  • Conduct research and development of conversion coatings and cleaners for metal substrates
  • Maintenance of existing Surface Treatment product line
  • Utilize statistical design and analysis
  • Ability to take discoveries from the laboratory to final product
  • Test products to industry specifications
  • Write and present technical reports to customers, trade associations, technical service personnel, and company management


  • Bachelors Degree in Chemistry is required. Masters Degree or PhD is preferred.
  • Preference for the following areas of research: Inorganic chemistry Conversion coatings
  • A minimum of three years' experience in conversion coating, metal pretreatment, or other surface treatment coatings.
  • Experience in formulating surface treatment or coating products for metal substrates.
  • The ability to work in a multi-functional team.
  • Experience in product scale up, manufacturing and troubleshooting product and application problems.
