Project Engineer

  • Project Management --The Project Engineer will work with and through other functional groups on site to develop, lead, and implement capital projects.
  • Contractor Management -- Work with multiple contractor disciplines to implement capital and major maintenance projects.
  • Manage contractor database to meet Henkel SHE standards and issue Safe Work Permits
  • Continuous Improvement -- Work with other functional groups on continuous improvement projects as required by management.
  • The Project Engineer will support efforts including but not limited to productivity, quality, and safety improvements. 
  • Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Management -- Embrace the site safety, health and environmental practices. 
  • Utility Management -- develop and implement strategies for improving overall efficiency of utilities used by the site as deemed necessary by management.
  • Communication -- Provide routine communication to all affected employees on the status of any project or process the Project Engineer is working on.
  • Trouble Shooting/Operations Support - Provide technical support to area personnel in troubleshooting process and equipment issues.
  • Record management -- Work with management to maintain accurate documentation on equipment, processes and P&IDs.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years managing projects in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred

  • Must have initiative and require little direct supervision 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, climb, reach, and kneel
  • Must have finger and hand dexterity to perform duties including grasping, pulling, pushing, and twisting
  • Must be able to perform duties in heat, cold, around dust, chemicals, noise, and heights
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hat, fall protection harness, gloves, face shield, and ear plugs
  • Must be able to pass forklift, fall prevention, and confined space entry certification
