  • The Design and Release Engineer will provide design engineering, manufacturing and project management support for regional and global design-in parts programs for automotive acoustic and structural applications.
  • Supply information to the Key Account Management and Program Management teams for part, piece price and tooling negotiations.
  • Responsible for part design, functionality, supporting sales growth and profitability, leadership of 5D/8D root-cause analysis, CAD interface, customer interface, travel and launch support, from RFQ through life of vehicle program.
  • May be required to work on special engineering projects.
  • Executing lessons-learned process - Gatekeeper to ensure Global Design Standards are used and ensure feedback to engineering team on proposal of new standards.
  • Final responsibility and authority of part functionality to customer requirements (air, water, sealing, crash/NVH performance, etc.)
  • Lead and coordinate part validation (DVPR), DFMEA, Design Reviews and Design for Mfg reviews with cross-functional team.


  • BS Degree in Engineering or Science is required.
  • Prior experience or internship related to automotive engineering is required. 
  • Experience with Body in White design, static sealing and injection-molding experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with Ford or for Ford Motor Co. a plus.
  • Strong communication, technical design knowledge, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think and work under minimal supervision.
  • Must be willing and able to travel and support automotive new vehicle launch requirements.
