  • Maintains current knowledge of all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety standards, as required.Monitors the company’s compliance with these requirements.
  • Performs field inspections of equipment and processes to identify opportunities to improve SHE performance.
  • Complete job safety analyses, incident investigations, industrial hygiene testing, risk assessments and other SHE tasks as assigned.
  • Provides SHE training to new and existing employees.
  • Interfaces with internal and external suppliers regarding safety related items and assists in the purchasing of related items.
  • Evaluates PPE type and selection; trains employees on how to use PPE effectively.
  • Assists with environmental compliance and reporting, including Title V air permit, Tier II, TRI, hazardous waste.
  • Manages records for multiple databases and systems, including but not limited to:
  • Safety metrics and reports
  • Sustainability metrics and reports
  • Training records
  • Site compliance calendar
  • Monthly SHE report
  • – action items, incident investigations
  • Environmental monitoring, inspections and reports
  • Obtains A3 certification and support site’s continuous improvement programs.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • BA/BS degree (preferred)
  • 1-3 years related experience in SHE-related activities
  • Chemical manufacturing plant experience, preferably with flammable liquids
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • HazMat and SUSA trained
  • Frequently sit, view a computer screen, and type on a keyboard for extended periods of times
  • Verbally communicate one-on-one and in front of large groups.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with ability to follow up on identified gaps
  • Personal computer proficient, particularly in Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Able to demonstrate a thorough and comprehensive understanding of relevant standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be part of a team
  • Occasionally may be required to reach, squat, bend and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to work in a chemical lab and manufacturing environment
  • May require travel within the United States
  • Requires a valid drivers license
