Trade Compliance Analyst

The Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for supporting and assisting import and/or export activities ensuring consistent compliance with United States Import/Export Laws and  Regulations across all business units in the Americas region

The Global Trade Analyst is responsible for maintenance of product classification, licensing determination and preference determination processes for Henkel America’s products including their maintenance in the SAP GTS system.  This role also requires coordination with business partners, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and various internal departments.

YOUR ROLE

  • Support Tariff Classification for US & Canada Products.
  • Support Free Trade Agreement Determination (USMCA, CAFTA, US-Chile, etc.) and ensure proper the data maintenance for those programs.
  • Review and investigate all blocked transactions in SAP GTS. Inform internal customers of potential issues.
  • Elevate issues to management that need further analysis.
  • Maintain global trade data, including but not limited to HTSUS, Schedule B, ECCN, Country of Origin
  • Support development and maintenance of SOP’s for global trade classification and licensing.
  • Support shipping locations and/or customers with questions related to global trade documents, including but not limited to import clearance documents, Shippers Letter of Instructions, Export Declarations, etc.
  • Conduct post entry audits of import files to ensure compliance to US regulations and record keeping requirements.   
  • Conduct export compliance audits as required
  • Address day-to-day international trade issues from various sources.
  • Generate standard Certificates of Origin and/or Manufacturer's Affidavits.
  • Identify different types of data that need tracking to improve business performance
  • Generate easy-to-interpret reports based on collected data.
  • Participate in developing and conducting training pertaining to import and export regulations
  • Support all other activities within the Global Trade Department as required

YOUR SKILLS

  • Bachelors Degree in Mathematics or Data Analytics and/or related Sciences
  • 2-3 years experience working with Multinational Company
  • Excellent analytical, digital and problem-solving skills a must.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills a must.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks and projects.
  • Detail oriented individual who takes ownership of projects 
  • Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Access)
  • Knowledge of SAP
