Sales Engineer/Account Manager

YOUR ROLE

  • Package Development Support
  • Source packaging and innovations based on assigned project and direction from Packaging Development Team.
  • Gain an understanding and assist with design conception, engineering, specification, and testing of structural packaging components. Modifying as necessary to consider product fit, structural form, material needs, cost targets, manufacture ability, retail environment, and storage and transportation requirements.
  • Develop new and update existing material specifications. Check supplier’s drawings for accurate component technical information. Obtain samples of packaging for formula/package compatibility testing.
  • Work with Geneva Packaging Engineering on new developments when piloting or trialing for qualification of new packaging.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in Packaging Industry Technologies.
  • Provide regular feedback to packaging development on progress against packaging objectives assigned to them. Identify and communicate viable options if original plan fails.
  • Collaborate and communicate with various teams as well as external partners to define packaging requirements, packaging specifications and track project priorities.
  • Handle other projects as required.

YOUR SKILLS

  • BS/BA in Business, Chemistry, Engineering or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 + years of relevant technical sales, laboratory or manufacturing experience and a progressive record of self-starting results.
  • Knowledge of automated control equipment and high-speed manufacturing operations strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel regionally,up to 70%, depending on location of home based office.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship building skills.
  •  Computer proficiency required in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in PPM, or PLM systems a plus (project management).
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to deadlines.
  • Extremely organized with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
