Safety, Health and Environmental Manager

We are currently recruiting for a SHE Manager at our West Hazleton, PA facility. The person in this role will be responsible for designing and implementing effective SHE programs in alignment with business objectives while maintaining compliance with all Henkel, federal, state and local regulatory requirements.

·Identifies hazardous workplace conditions and removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding machinery, revising work procedures, and training employees.

·Conduct risk assessments to eliminate/reduce the potential for environmental incidents and occupational injuries or illnesses and prevent the occurrence of unwanted safety conditions, behaviors and environmental issues.

·Organizes, leads, and participates in activities that promote employee involvement in the SHE program (i.e. safety committees, accident investigation teams, inspection/audit teams, etc).

·Investigate environmental and occupational accidents/incidents using participative root cause analysis techniques and develop appropriate response to prevent recurrence.

·Direct, maintain, and administer all aspects of the Workers Compensation program.

·Conducts SHE training and provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and functional leadership on the effectiveness of SHE programs.

·Provides guidance and information to the management team on SHE priorities and risks, associated costs, performance, major issues, and interpretation of regulatory requirements.

·Create and maintain accurate, up-to-date, and complete records and documentation (Manuals, SOPs, JRAs, WHAs, etc) as related to Corporate and Site SHE requirements.


·Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry or other related technical degree, and 10 or more years related experience in a manufacturing environment

·Must possess knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for leading and directing programs, including the ability to perform detailed risk assessments on all equipment in the facility and the ability to prioritize assessed risks and ensure that effective controls are implemented

·Must possess a working knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA), SHE program management (Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental), risk management, behavior-based safety, training and auditing;

·Strong interpersonal, communication and project management skills;
