The Quality Specialist role is responsible for managing the plant non-conformance program, product identification and traceability, developing and maintaining new hire quality training, lab budgeting and procurement, managing and reporting on quality KPIs, investigating and managing complaints, and jumping in wherever needed to further the cause of quality. The Quality Specialist is a key member of the Quality team and will be involved in quality investigations, strategic-planning and decision-making.

  • Manage lab inventory and lab supply budget and on-going savings projects. Manage and serve as subject-matter expert for SAP and WMS hold processes for quality. Manage and serve as subject-matter expert for product traceability and maintain plant traceability exercises and documentation.
  • Provide on the ground support for investigating quality issues, escalating problems when needed, and recommendations for improvements or product dispositions.
  • Prepares reports, analyzes data and leads efforts for improving operations and problem solving.
  • Maintains and facilitates quality training for new hires.
  • Analyze, investigate and resolve consumer and customer complaints and returns.
  • Assists in the implementation of quality assurance work processes and systems across the plant site,
  • Manage plant hygiene processes and can sample and test raw materials, process water, bulk and finished goods, processes and packaging lines routinely and identify microorganisms and identify sources of contamination.
  • Performs quality audits in the plant, warehouses, or at suppliers as required and supports third party audits, inspections and corporate visits of the plant.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing, business, or engineering-related or equivalent experience, skills & training.
  • 3-5 years previous quality or manufacturing management experience preferred
  • Relevant certifications (Six Sigma, ASQ, Lead Auditor, etc.) preferred
  • Experience working with master data and nonconformance control processes in SAP, WMS and other systems preferred
