Category Manager

YOUR ROLE

  • Leads category management for the Beauty Care Organization including promotion analysis, shelving/assortment, pricing, and category/consumer insights. This role is instrumental in providing key category insights to support decisions to achieve our long-range plan. This candidate has the opportunity to develop and implement new and exciting tools for our Sales, Marketing & Sales Strategy teams, and will be leading our annual data negotiations with our vendors. Position reports to the Sr. Finance Manager.
  • Develops presentations with clear category recommendations and presents them at the client for Account Line Reviews. Customizes sales presentations for account/channel specific use tying in category insights and strategy with sales and account opportunities on continuous basis.
  • Leverages internal and external data sources including point-of-sales data and Nielsen to create tools, analyses, and presentations in support of Division/Team objectives

YOUR SKILLS

  • B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Category Management (or related roles) within consumer products industry with manufacturer or syndicated data supplier. Previous customer facing experience is an asset.
  • Direct sales or brand management experience in consumer packaged goods industry is a plus
  • Proficient in use of customer POS data including Retail Link, IRI, Precima, etc.
  • Excellent computer skills with Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Power Bi)
  • Strong proficiency and expert knowledge in Nielsen and other consumer/market tools and methodologies (Kantar, retail link/ Precima/ IRI Sobey's, Numerator, etc)
  • Demonstrate analytical skills, able to interpret and utilize syndicate data, etc
  • Develop tools and report to support business data requirements.
