  • You, the Business Development Coordinator (BDC), are reporting to and supportive of the Manager of Business Development EMEA. Besides that, you are also supporting the team of two Business Developers EMEA.
  • For all other internal departments such as Marketing, Education, Supply Chain, Credit Management, Account Receivables, you are the main go-to-person and central departmental information hub.
  • On behalf of the Business Development department, the BDC gathers all necessary information- and answers from all relevant internal and external stakeholders. Inside and outside the organisation the BDC is known to not settle for less than what she/he is looking for. Nonetheless due to a well-developed interpersonal skillset, the BDC gets this done while looking after the relationships which she/he has built up over time. 
  • The BDC is the process owner of a large variety of administrative, reporting and coordinating processes which she/he brings to the finish line autonomously, accurately and while respecting the deadlines.
  • It is very important that the BDC feels encouraged to pro-actively suggest sustainable process improvements and to constantly come up with new processes which contribute to an increased departmental effectiveness, efficiency and/or an improved customer experience. 
  • Naturally the BDC anticipates challenges before they rise to the surface and she/he makes them known to the relevant stakeholders, of course in combination with the potential solution(s).
  • Typically, the BDC does not wait for a command but is self-starting and pro-actively takes ownership of what needs to be done within-, and when needed also outside, the scope of her/his responsibility.
  • The BDC organises the sales meetings, other internal meetings and she/he suggests other (non-existing) meetings if she/he thinks this is necessary for further alignment. The BDC makes sure that everyone shows up prepared by populating and sharing relevant information prior to the meeting. The BDC summarizes the meeting outcome and its action points.
  • Of course the BDC is also the person who organises online- and offline gatherings- and events for external and/or stakeholders on behalf of the Business Development department or in cooperation with other departments.
  • The BDC ensures European product launches or product changes are correctly notified in the European registration database by close communication with Regulatory Affairs US and she/he follows up on distributor requests related to product registrations (e.g. production dates, artwork files MSDS sheets).
  • Summarized; it is fact that being the BDC for Henkel Nederland BV, JOICO Division, means that you play a crucial role in the output- and result of the European Business Development department. The scope of responsibility is wide and can even expand, depending on the demonstrated skillset and pro-activeness of the chosen BDC. This makes it a highly interesting and dynamic position which can be further shaped as time progresses.. 


  • You have a bachelor degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics or similar.
  • You are fluent in English. All other languages are logically more than welcome in our international environment.
  • You work very accurately, even when you are multi-tasking under time pressure. So indeed, you are also good at multi-tasking.
  • You are definitely pro-active, you know how to enthuse others with your ideas and you how to get them in motion on your behalf. 
  • You demonstrate a high level of flexibility and you understand that a certain level of stress comes with every job. 
  • You take ownership of your tasks and responsibilities, you execute your job with pride and you are the type of person that ‘wants to do the right thing without taking shortcuts’.
  • You understand that customers are a bless and you treat them accordingly.
  • Excel has (almost) no secrets for you and people say “wow” when they see your PowerPoints presentations.
