Senior Technician

YOUR ROLE

  • Conducts all R&D laboratory work in a safe manner including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), adherence to site safety practices, use of laboratory equipment, 5S, etc.
  • Provides support for various projects assigned by Sr. Chemist and/or Lab Manager.
  • Prepare batch formulations according to written instructions by Sr. Chemist and/or Lab Manager.
  • Assists in maintaining project time-lines.
  • Employs basic problem solving skill-sets to overcome project bottlenecks and maintain project deliverable dates.
  • Collects and organizes data in a coherent format. Communicates basic observations regarding data and/or experimental outcome.
  • Comfortable with a variety of curing and dispensing equipment. May train other Technicians regarding equipment operation and/or test procedures.
  • Take on equipment ownership and responsible for maintaining safe operation of the assigned equipment.
  • Understanding of mathematical and statistical techniques relevant to adhesive

YOUR SKILLS

  • BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Sciences, Materials Science, or in any other related scientific areas, preferred but not required.
  • Significant experience (greater than 2 years) Adhesive formulations is required. Candidate with associate degree with track record of 4-6 years of successful Product Development in the relevant area may be considered.
  • Experience working in a Chemical laboratory is preferred.
  • Ability to gather, understand, and interpret chemical, physical and mechanical data.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other team members in product development programs.
  • Solid interpersonal skills. Candidate must be able to work as a team member and independently on multi-task assignments.
  • Knowledgeable in Power Point, Word, Lotus Notes, Excel and Statistical Analysis Software
