Transportation Planner

YOUR ROLE

  • Plan, tender and monitor (tracing and tracking) shipments to carriers via TMS and SAP according to department policy/procedure.
  • Manage carrier performance to ensure performance is at or above target KPI’s.
  • Initiate and maintain transfer/replenishment activity from all warehouses/entities.
  • Monitor daily dock appointments to ensure compliance with warehouse work schedules.
  • Coordinate and provide shipment information for Customer Service, Deployment, Sales, Production Planners, and Warehouse.
  • Develop/build reports from complex data sets for analysis and recommend actions.
  • Cross train on other areas to help cover department resources appropriately as assigned by Manager.
  • Continual monitoring of the Transportation Management System (TMS) to ensure all loads have picked up and delivered.

YOUR SKILLS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, SC, Finance, or related field
  • 2 – 3 years Previous experience within transportation industry or logistics experience required
  • Above average skills in Microsoft Suite required
  • Experience with OTM and SAP strongly preferred
