Deployment Engineer

Albert‘s mission is to foster a software platform which uses big data and machine learning to drastically accelerate the invention of new formulations and novel materials. We are seeking Global Deployment Engineers to help lead the growth and deployments of the software platform through Henkel’s sites (Europe, Asia, United States). Ideal candidates are product focused, and very comfortable with technology. A key responsibility will be to take findings from training and deployment and add them onto the product roadmap. We are looking for passionate candidates who are the point person for technology change management and not afraid to tackle a tough problem


  • Act as a passionate representative of the Henkel and Albert product and brand
  • Travel to deployment sites and serve as the on the ground support for the deployment and change management of a digital transformation (50% + of your time will be spend traveling to Henkel sites)
  • Work closely with Albert end users and Albert Ambassadors and communicate/train them on Albert functionality to ensure a seamless adoption of the platform
  • Take note of all feature requests, pain points, bugs, etc. found during the deployment. Take pride and ownership in communicating these requests to the software team and play a role in adjusting the product roadmap for the benefit of the users
  • Creatively adapt existing business processes to fit within a digital transformed organization / laboratory
  • Identify risks, define countermeasures and take the lead in case of problems and conflicts
  • Support in building out and designing training content and collateral to support future deployments in Henkel


  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience acting as a chemist or technician in a lab environment
  • Experience in software development (Javascript, MySQL, etc.), product management or other software roles is advantageous
  • Data science knowledge and experience (especially as it pertains to chemistry/material science) is advantageous
  • Working knowledge and experience with eLN, LIMS, or Chemical Inventory Management software is advantageous
  • Strategic, entrepreneurial mindset with an eye for design and change (to support in the constant updates and enhancements of the Albert platform)
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with strategic thinking
  • Quick learner and very comfortable with technology (Google, Chrome, data platforms, mobile apps, etc.)
  • Natural curiosity for new topics, cultural candor and strong social skills
  • Fluent English language skills required, German and Mandarin are advantageous
