Product Development Technician - Adhesive Technologies (m/f/x)

  • Perform physical lab work, such as preparation of formulations, analysis & testing of batches, raw materials, products, competitor products, compiling of results or other experiments as planned by the Chemists, in accordance with project and customer needs
  • Document and record such experiments, tasks and results in the correct digital format following current Henkel standards, maintaining traceability
  • Support scale-up, pilot and customer trials
  • Contribute actively to a safe working environment by applying safety procedures on site and ensure that all work is done in line with certified quality standards
  • Ensure that work is done in a safe manner and in line with Henkel SHE, lab organization, 5S and tidiness policy.
  • Provide available and measurable technical data, samples of experimental products and advice on their handling.
  • Train other lab members (laboratory know-how, processes and test methods)
  • Maintain raw materials inventory Able to work on several tasks simultaneously


  • Bachelor degree in Chemistry, or closely related field
  • Master degree in Chemistry or related discipline would be considered as a plus
  • Experience in similar position would be considered as a plus
  • Excellent hands-on practical laboratory skills
  • Broad experience with multiple characterization techniques (viscosity, adhesion, DSC, DMA, TGA, TMA,...)
  • Self-dependent & efficient planning and performing of lab work & tasks, including planning work and evaluating results from Technicians
  • Previous experience with adhesives for electronic applications is a plus
  • Job requires short term assignment (6-9 months) at the Westerlo site in Belgium, after that the final job location is Dusseldorf, Germany
