Internship in Global Purchasing Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing (m/f)

The organizational unit Purchasing is responsible for the purchase of goods and/or services to accomplish the goals of Henkel. As our supplier base is one of our most important resources, we need to ensure that our demands are being purchased according to our Responsible Sourcing Policy. We offer an internship for a period of 3 - 6 months (ideally 6 months) to highly motivated and talented students to work on Responsible Sourcing projects within our Corporate Purchasing Department, located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands


  • Become part of our global Purchasing Sustainability team with interfaces to Business Units, supply chain and suppliers, as well as external partners and key stakeholders.
  • Take the lead on developing training modules for purchasers and suppliers.
  • Support the concept development and execution of a hybrid multi stakeholder event.
  • Manage projects in the area of communication and capability building for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the data collection and analysis of specific market, technologies, players and materials in link with Sustainability (for recycled content inclusion in packaging)
  • Support the implementation of a GHG-emission tool to track supplier progress in reducing CO2 emissions.


  • Master or Bachelor student, preferably with either focus on International Business Communication and Media Management OR Procurement OR Economics
  • Practical or international experience, e.g. by former internships or semester abroad
  • Experience in social media communication and/or capability building methods
  • Fluency in English, other language is an advantage
  • Firm knowledge in MS-Office applications, especially Excel and Power Point
  • Knowledge of Power BI is a big plus
  • Analytical thinking skills and global mindset
  • Flexible, open-minded and pro-active team player
