  • Develop new state-of-the-art product solutions based on a wide range of technologies in support of marketing or specific customer requests in order to grow sales within AEI SBU
  • Reformulate products if raw materials have been changed and ensure performance is maintained in order to support existing sales
  • Plan and do physical lab work such as preparation of formulations, analysis & testing of batches, products, competitor products, compiling of results and discussions with the Team
  • Ensure all projects are written up and work is communicated globally with other parts of Henkel to ensure best information is available in support of customers
  • Develop any new product quality test procedures in support of product development and quality assurance
  • Support scale-up, pilot and customer trials
  • Deliver technical presentations, to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute actively to a safe working environment Train other lab members (formulation/tests)
  • Prepared to travel about 10%


  • At least University level (preferably PhD) chemistry qualifications is required
  • Preferably with background or experience in polymer science or material science
  • In case of Masters degree 9-12+ years experience in PD are required
  • In case of PhD degree, 6-9+ years of experience are required
  • Is a recognized custodian of knowledge and application of “Intellectual Property” and product technologies for AEI Global and targeted markets and customers
  • Strong hands-on practical laboratory skills
  • Self-dependent & efficient planning and performing lab work & tasks, including planning work and evaluating results from Technicians
  • Proven expertise in formulating a wide range of Chemistries: Epoxy, Acrylics, Silicones, Polyurethanes, etc or of adhesives for electronics would be considered as a plus
  • Analytical thinking, Results-oriented, Creative, Drive and determination to achieve, Initiative and decisiveness, Organizational, Collaborative innovation, Digital tools
  • Job requires short term assignment (6-9 months) at the Westerlo site in Belgium, after that the final job location is Dusseldorf, Germany
