  • Engage with both plant and corporate leadership in building strategic plans and energize plant associates in safety and environmental improvement. Develops and implements innovative strategies with the goal of creating a culture of safety.
  • Develop and standardize policies, procedures, and programs aimed at improving safety performance and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Analyzes and actions data regarding performance against organizational metrics, incident trends, serious incidents, regulatory and legal issues.
  • Organizes and manages the incident investigation process within the facility using participative root cause analysis techniques.
  • Develops a continuous improvement approach that proactively identifies opportunities and finds solutions based on industry best practices.
  • Subject matter expert providing analytical and technical guidance related to OSHA, DOT, EPA Standards, process safety, and lock out tag out.
  • Oversees Workers Compensation injury review, investigation, and corrective actions. Collaborates with risk management, HR and carriers to effectively manage claims.
  • Works closely with Plant Management, HR and Logistics to problem-solve and implement solutions.
  • Develops and implements sampling and monitoring plans which may include installing, operating and maintaining equipment which monitor air, land, and/or water pollution level
  • Collaborates cross functionally to ensure effective equipment guarding, design, installation and compliance.
  • Work with on-site Safety Committees to achieve excellence in safety performance.


  • Bachelor's degree; Occupational Safety & Health or related discipline highly preferred.
  • ASP/CSP highly preferred and 5 or more years of safety experience in manufacturing, transportation, or warehousing, CPG experience highly preferred
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodology, experience/understanding of ISO 14001, 50001, and 45001.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
