Controls Engineer II

Under the direction of the Technical Leadership team, the Controls Engineer II will provide leadership in all areas involving controls/automation and production IT, provide troubleshooting expertise to all areas of the facility, and verify adherence to local, state and federal codes.  Areas responsibility include but are not limited to Building Automation, MES systems, SCADA, Batch Process Control, Safety Systems, and a diverse set of Manufacturing Equipment.


  • Serve as a key contributor to the strategic planning, evaluation, organization, and implementation of automation related projects and initiatives
  • Will also direct design and programming of control systems for new and existing systems
  • Serve as subject matter expert for site projects upholding compliance requirements and standardization
  • Act as the highest level of escalation for controls and production IT related breakdowns
  • Works with Contractors, Department Managers and Maintenance staff to troubleshoot problems and improve processes 


  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Automation Engineering is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in manufacturing environment conducting support and installation 
  • Experience in the following preferred: SCADA, Rockwell RS Logix, AMSC Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Other Legacy PLCs Servo Drives and Motors SQL Databases Ethernet and Fiber Optic Communication Systems
    Solenoid and Pneumatic Controls Instrumentation and Process Monitoring: Mass Flow Meters, RTD/Thermocouples, Pressure Sensors, Load Cells Plant Power Distribution including NFPA 70E requirements
