  • Seeking a Research Scientist to develop innovative Surface Treatment and Functional coating products for Henkel customers within the Metal Food and Beverage container markets.
  • Conduct research and development in conversion coatings and/or functional coatings for metal substrates.
  • Discover new chemistry for conversion coatings and/or functional coatings that meet future market needs.
  • Ability to take discoveries from the laboratory to final products.
  • Write and present technical reports to customers, trade associations, technical service personnel, and company management.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical expertise and a high-profile involvement with important industry technical associations.
  • Serve as surface treatment technical contact for external customers, sales, marketing, and operations.


  • 5-10 years Industrial Experience. Metal Packaging experience preferred.
  • MS or PhD in Chemistry is required.
  • Fundamental and practical experience in research and development of conversion coatings and/or functional coatings for metals.
  • Goal-oriented, new technology/product developer.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
