Pilot Plant Technician

YOUR ROLE

  • Prepare raw materials and equipment to conduct Process Engineering led experiments.Follow process instructions for the execution of experiments and document processing conditions and observations throughout the experiment.
  • Possess the ability to use and maintain basic laboratory, analytical, and process equipment.
  • Maintain chemical inventories of common use items.Ensure proper labeling of raw materials.Dispense bulk raw materials into smaller containers for use by the labs.Perform inventory transactions in Science Cloud (chemical inventory software).
  • Prepare product samples for use in consumer tests or sales samples.
  • Supervise temporary labor workers as required for special projects.
  • Order laboratory supplies and raw materials in Ariba (purchasing software).
  • Set-up, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment and work area.

YOUR SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to work with machinery in a pilot plant atmosphere.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory batch production records.
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.  An Associate Degree in a technical field or technical diploma is preferred.
  • Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
