YOUR ROLE

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows process orders and manufacturing instructions to load chemicals and process a product in a mixing vessel or reactor. This could consist of mixing, heating, cooling, drying, vacuuming and other processing methods.
  • Has basic knowledge of SAP, LOGOS, and label printing (if required).
  • Inspects and cleans mixing vessels or reactors as instructed.
  • Accesses manufacturing instructions, standard operating procedures and standard test methods (if required) using HIMDOC.
  • Monitors and interacts with PLC's (if required), gauges, dials, valves,meters, vacuum pumps, heaters, chillers and other process controls in order to  conform to batch processes.
  • Performs line clearance before blending a batch or reaction and packing a finished good.
  • Performs proper grounding and bonding..
  • Performs lockout/tagout (if required) to clean mixers.
  • Performs the 2 sets of eyes process while blending and packaging.
  • Extracts samples for quality testing using the correct items, containers and tools.
  • Performs packaging of finished goods either manually, using packaging equipment or extruders including use of proper closure of packaging containers.
  • With a trained and certified operator, performs scale verification until fully trained and certified to perform the task on their own.
  • Conditions raw material for proper storage according to the manufacturing instructions and process order.
  • If required, performs quality test procedures (STM's) to validate that product performance is within set specification range, enters quality results and usage decisions into SAP       
  • Operates high lift truck (if required), hoist or other material handling equipment to transport material.
  • Enters information required on manufacturing instructions or run sheet and completes necessary paperwork for documentation.
  • Maintains accurate inventories by filling out tally cards and inventory adjustment sheets.
  • Ensures compliance with all facility SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) policies and procedures. Ensure conformance and support with facility quality management system. 
  • May be requested to perform operator 5S preventative maintenance.
  • Handles both hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with procedures.
  • Maintains good housekeeping standards including cleaning equipment and general work area, polishing, sweeping, trash removal and assure all equipment/tools/RM’s are stored in proper locations, and no aisle, fire extinguishers, emergency exits are blocked.
  • May be required to adjust work hours and/or work overtime to meet business demands.
  • Obtains input from Chemical Operators Level 2-4, Shift Lead and area  Supervisor for the tasks required for the day based on schedule.
  • Performs various other duties as assigned.

YOUR SKILLS

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  •  Passing of standardized cognitive company test(s).
  • Prior experience in a chemical batch mixing industry preferred. 
  • Must be a self motivated who requires minimal supervision.
  • Moderate PLC experience is preferred.

    Essential Duties of Position:

    At a minimum, must be able to read, write, use a computer, reason, calculate simple math,
    work on multiple tasks simultaneously, speak and hear conversational speech, drive high lift
    truck. Must be able to twist knobs, pull levers, turn valves, push control buttons, and attach
    hose connection. Must be able to pass medical clearance to wear a full-face respirator. Must
    apply personal protective equipment including full face mask respirator, hearing protection,
    and frequent change of specified rubber gloves.

    This position requires the use of chemicals, some of which may contain hazardous material,
    and involves handling, moving, storing, and/or disposing of waste that may contain hazardous
    materials.  Proper training, protective equipment and instruction for safety practices will be
    provided.

    Able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.
