Head of R&D Maintenance Europe (d/f/m)

YOUR ROLE

  • Define and steer R&D Maintenance priorities consistently with business needs
  • Steer alternative materials validation, production transfers, cost reductions and portfolio simplifications initiatives both for formulation and packaging (together with product development, supply chain and purchasing)
  • Steer R&D Maintenance teams in Germany, Serbia and Spain 
  • Ensure fulfillment of performance, quality and cost product requirements
  • Define and plan resources to meet planned objectives, report on R&D Maintenance activities
  • Develop team members regarding leadership and technical and digital competences
  • Represent R&D in regional committees related to Maintenance activities (margin improvement etc.)
  • Act as technically responsible person for R&D Maintenance projects; ensure compliance with corporate SHE standards, policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance to team regarding new approaches, solutions, processes, products within an agreed timeframe
  • Oversee that all alternative raw and packaging materials meet international chemical health and safety requirements and other regulations
  • Steer sharing of Maintenance Best Practices across regions
  • Represent Henkel at various associations (e.g. AISE) and shape technical guidance documents; represent BU category in core crisis teams

YOUR SKILLS

  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related fields
  • Min 10 years of working experience in FMCG product development including technical support to manufacturing sites, cost and portfolio optimization projects
  • Ideally global, but at least regional R&D experience
  • Knowledge of Henkel businesses/categories is advantageous
  • Product development knowledge
  • P&L understanding
  • Strong people, teams and stakeholder management skills
  • Strategic and structured approach with problem-solving attitude, pragmatic and can-do attitude
  • High ability to learn, change catalyst
  • Strong communication skills, ownership and teamwork
  • Inclusive approach
  • Fluent English language skills, German is advantageous
