  • Drive company strategy on circular economy, with focus on packaging
  • Provide thought leadership, technical and market expertise as well as leadership to develop and track key metrics for internal and external (progress) reporting
  • Forecasting and roadmapping against our circular economy targets
  • Manage the x-business STAR Packaging workstream and guide the design of global cross-BU processes and data systems for R&D Packaging Reporting and Packaging Master Data Management in close collaboration with business counterparts and other functions
  • Represent Henkel in key external Circular Economy organisations and partners and lead the external reporting on Circular Economy in cooperation with Corporate Sustainability and business units (e.g. sustainability report, external reports and customer inquiries, as well as internal KPI reporting at BU level)
  • Build internal capacity on circular design, material flows, technical and market developments
  • Deepen the knowledge about product end-of-life scenarios and support relevant customer-facing functions with insight, materials and value propositions for communicating sustainability performance of products and services
  • Provide thought leadership and global intellgence to group, business units and regions with analysis of ongoing circular economy debate and regulatory development and turn them into actionable insights
  • Guide the development and deliver internal trainings on sustainability as part of company’s training programs.
  • Manage topic-related projects, consultants and budgets with high level of autonomy


  • Master Degree in Business Administration, Sustainability or other related area
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience in sustainability with focus on circular economy, packaging and product end-of-life scenarios
  • Expertise on topics related to Environmental Policy on European and national level, ideally also with experience in international markets (US, Asia)
  • Knowledge about Plastics and Packaging Design, Recycling and sorting technologies, as well as Extended Producer Responsibility Systems
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to grasp and tackle complex issues quickly
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complicated technical matters across different functions and backgrounds
  • English skills (business fluent), additional languages would be a plus
