Start Up Engineer

Automation & Digitalization



·Taking part in design phase of the system

·Define success criteria and track it

·Prepare detailed start-up plan

·Review documentation and instruction.Checking how much is interface user friendly and ensuring that maintenance documentation is good/detailed enough

·Present at FAT and critically review the outcome in documented way

·Tracking installation of equipment and actively checking if everything is according project documentation and Henkel standards

·Active participation in SAT (tracking of safety, OEE, product quality, and creating protocol)

·Guide start up with special focus on safety, line downtimes, product quality and providing measures to solve out all issues thus providing vertical ramp up.

·IQ/OQ/PQ – participate during creating of documents and track tasks and their fulfillment

·Create SOP for centerlining (key set up parameters and critical points)

·Create start/stop procedures

·Track ramp up and keeps the team focused on addressing key issues & priorities based on decision criteria

·Uses appropriate communication tools to keep the team updated about the status in each phase of project

·Organize operators training, supporting and developing them during ramp up

·Prepare maintenance plan and manuals. Provide a maintenance strategy that reduce future breakdowns (define what should be solve on local level, back up strategy, connectivity, technician training etc).

·Provide technical guidance on complex problems

·Record learnings and maintain troubleshooting guide

·All information’s regarding technical, materials problems or possible improvements mast addressed to him - SPOC for post installation support

·Initiate optimization equipment in order to have higher OEE, centerlining,machine communication and automation

·Actively communicate with Global digitalization and HPS teams

·Shares and reapplies learning across equipment and lines

·Prepares and gives training on process/equipment changes

·Development of local team (SHE and QA, HPS, engineering, production, maintenance)

·Leads the ‘learn from experience’ assessment to capture learnings and shares learnings and good practices



Degree in mechanical, chemical, technology, mechatronics, electrical, manufacturing, production engineering (preferred)

Understanding of consumer product industry

Proficient knowledge of PLC/automation/robotics

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to lead and motivate others

Ability to negotiate with, and persuade others

Result-oriented mindset

Confidence to respond positively when under pressure

Efficiency and organization

Teamworking skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels

Strong financial and analytical skills to drive complex analyses

Business skills, as you may be responsible for managing budgets, leading a team and liaising with suppliers

Computer skills

Capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures

Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Availability to travel abroad
