  • Be part of a cross-functional use case team to build data-driven business models that require IoT components
  • Acquire good understanding of the latest IoT developments and relevant players (incl. innovative start-ups) and leverage this for potential buy/partnership decisions
  • Build and maintain good relationships with our Adhesive industry experts (esp., application engineers, technical customers service, automation solution engineers, etc.) to consider and integrate deep domain know-how for the selection of the best IoT solution
  • Design the connectivity concept for core assets that are required for the value creation (i.e., choose the right sensor, edge device, etc.)
  • Work closely with IoT solution architect and data engineers to capture relevant data points and get the data to the right location for value creation and back for actions following the insights and recommendations
  • Once developed, tested, and trained, help to deploy software solutions in customer’ production environment


  • Master's degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, (chemical) engineering or science generally
  • 4+ years of experience with industrial IoT, Manufacturing 4.0, industrial IoT architecture, applied IoT solutions for new business models (data-driven business models), innovative connectivity concepts and different archetypes (e.g., also for remote settings, etc.), integration engineering, innovative sensor types
  • Good understanding of the latest developments and players (incl. innovative start-ups) 
  • Shopfloor experience of data security in IoT context; Experience in API architecture and management
  • Knowledge in communication and low-power technologies, e.g. 5G, LoRaWAN and protocols, e.g. MQTT, LWM2M, BLE, NB-IoT
  • Proficiency in at least one of the programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Node.js, or Phyton is an advantage; Experience with cloud IoT services is an advantage (e.g., Azure IoT, AWS GreenGrass)
  • Experience in working with historian software solutions (such as GE proficy, OSI PI), and other edge applications (such as thingworx platform); Know how to build, test, and document stable and scalable data integration and processing pipelines (together with data engineering team)
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, uncertainty and risk in a project environment and ability to achieve excellent results in dynamic and multicultural settings
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn disruptive technologies quickly
  • Fluent English language skills
