This position is responsible for organic resin synthesis in a batch processing environment, both for existing resins and for new molecule development. Requires fundamental chemical process understanding, process optimization, quality improvement, and enhancement of customer satisfaction while reducing costs and waste. The chemist must be knowledgeable in six sigma problem solving techniques, batch processing, and scale up.
·Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Master’s degree preferred.
·3-5 years experience with organic resin synthesis.
·Six Sigma green belt preferred, skilled with design of experiments.
·Competent in project management, possessing the ability of starting a project and driving it through to completion
·Well versed with FMEAs and creation of manufacturing instructions.
·Skilled with statistical tools (SPC, SQC, trend charts, Anova, etc.).
·Experience with process hazard analysis is a plus.
