Relief Operator

 What we offer

  • Make sure all materials needed for run are on hand.
  • Ensure compliance with all standard operating procedures.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitizing tasks.
  • Perform machine start up and shut down procedures on production equipment.
  • Monitor operating equipment and machinery to ensure proper performance. 
  • Make adjustments to equipment parameters, within validated standards, to ensure output meets specification.
  • Perform required steps to complete size and product changeovers in accordance with production schedule.
  • Log data into computerized production tracking system including machine parameters, downtime events, and line performance. 
  • Inspect output to ensure compliance with quality standards, which may include the use of calibrated equipment, tools, and machines.  Accurately maintains all required quality documentation.
  • Complete basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks such as cleaning, inspection, minor lubrication and parts replacement.  Escalate non-routine and complex issues following the facility escalation procedure.

Who we are looking for

  • Have the ability to run all machines on the lines they support. They should be a go-to resource for training and should be prepared to step in for the Lead if they are absent/on vacation.
  • Effectively communicate line performance to co-workers and managers. 
  • Participate in line start up meetings and shift to shift hand offs.
  • Participate in and support lean and continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficient production processes.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all  times to maintain hygienic security on the line, within their area, and within the facility as a whole.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Flex schedule, as needed, to provide support.
  • Assist leads to complete administrative tasks.
  • Temporary management (verification).
  • Learn and effectively operate all equipment on assigned line / area in order to ensure smooth workflow by providing support for planned and unplanned absenteeism & breaks / lunches.
  • High School or Equivalent.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a production environment preferred.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
