YOUR ROLE

  • The Senior Product Development Chemist is responsible for on-time and cost-effective development and scale-up of innovative adhesive and sealant products based on technologies such as SMP, silicones and urethanes that meet the needs of the North American professional and consumer markets.
  • Ensure a systematic, planned approach and methodology from the ideation phase through development to scale up and commercialization. 
  • Lead implementation of Henkel Corporate initiatives where business-appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance to Henkel work processes such as Stage Gate, SAP, Product Safety and relevant environmental and regulatory requirements. 
  • Maintain/ develop strong relationships with raw material vendors. Assist manufacturing, TCS, QA with non-routine problems.
  • Produce high quality data-based status and project completion reports. Work with Legal department on IP issues, NDA, invention disclosures

YOUR SKILLS


  • Bachelor degree in Chemistry is required.  Masters or PhD in Chemistry is strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of industrial experience related to design, synthesis,  testing & evaluation of adhesive and sealant products based on reactive systems such as PU’s, SMP’s and silicones is required. 
  • Experience with commercialization of products from the lab through production and into the customer’s hands is required. 
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Committed to foster teamwork on a local and global basis. Committed to participating and contribution to team goals.
