Business Development Engineer (GM)

  • The Business Development Engineer will work directly with manufacturing and design engineers at GM to identify and develop new business opportunities, specifically in GM's electrification (battery and e-Drive systems). 
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts and partners within GM and other suppliers/partners. -Understand key technical customer requirements and specifications and secure technical approvals on new battery and e-Drive applications for Henkel products. 
  • Project Management for driving projects from first design discussion to prototyping to approval to production scale-up phase and first sales.  
  • Involve internal Henkel stakeholders and Collaborate with Henkel Key Account Management for commercial offers and negotiation.  
  • Run market launch activities of new technologies and products for battery and e-drive systems.


  • Bachelors in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or other technical/engineering focus is required.  
  • Electrification (Battery, E-drive, e-mobility) experience is required.  
  • Prior Automotive OEM experience as either a supplier or direct employee is required, GM experience strongly desired. 
  • Customer facing experience required.  
  • Strong sense of ownership, entrepreneurial spirit and hands-on mentality.  
  • Experience working effectively in cross-functional and international teams.
