Your Role

  • Direct and manage the plant operations for production, engineering, quality, and supply chain.
  • Lead the transformation of the Rancho Dominguez site into a Henkel Center of Excellence for the production of adhesives for electronic applications.
  • Lead and develop staff including selection, recruitment, hiring, training, mentoring, coaching, and motivating employees.
  • Coordinate plant activities with departmental managers/supervisors to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a safe, ethical, and environmentally sound manner.
  • Actively support and enforce the plant’s SHE standards.
  • Lead by example and maintain high standards to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company rules and regulations.
  • Review plant goals and metrics against various quality, customer and regulatory standards and requirements to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage capital assets, including optimization and maintenance of capital productivity, capacity planning, expansion, & preventative maintenance.
  • Prepare and manage budgets with the goal of annual cost reductions without sacrificing safety, quality or service.
  • Implement cost effective systems for capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop appropriate continuous improvement action plans.
  • Coordinate and ensure that the Rancho Dominguez site goals and initiatives are consistent with the NA Adhesives Operations and AE Business teams.
  • Maintain regular and proactive communication both within the Rancho Dominguez site and within the AE management team.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or other technical discipline
  • 7-12 years’ experience with a combination of technical and production assignments preferred.
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process and continuous improvement programs and procedures.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of all Health, Safety and Environmental standards, particularly related to personnel and process safety, air, waste, and water compliance.
  • Solid project management skills, team leadership skills, and excellent communication skills.
